![]() An economy blade (trash it - only good for maximizing battery life, but awful cut quality), and what they call the “performance blade”. The super recycler comes with two blades when you buy it. Is it worth it? That's up to each individual to decide, but for me - yes. ![]() Milwaukee will always come with a price tag, but I will say that I'm happier with their tools -vs- the Toro (especially the mower). the Toro system will be the less expensive of the two - by a lot. Even the dual battery Milwaukee with two 12ah batteries still aims down. Made for significant wrist fatigue if being used for any length of time whatsoever. The Toro was horribly unbalanced and wanting to point straight (or even up a bit) -vs- towards the ground when a battery is installed. I'll toss in a bit about the blowers too (even though you didn't ask) and just say the Milwaukee blowers are greatly preferred. most string trimmers go counterclockwise (m18 included). One thing to note though - the Toro spins in a clockwise rotational direction. as long as I can control it to edge out a lawn and it has enough power to rip through the tall weeds behind my fence, I'm happy. For me a string trimmer is a string trimmer. But on the flip side - the Toro has the 90-degree rotational ability which was actually quite handy and made vertical cutting more ergonomically comfortable. this isn't ideal if you're already elbows deep in the hedge cutting. The Toro would take a couple of seconds to fully ramp up and get to cutting when being used. I like how the m18 hedge trimmer is instant power when pulling the trigger. including over my gas Honda's.Īs for the other tools (hedge trimmer and string trimmer) - much less of a difference. I still have this mower and sing its praises - it has become my favorite mower overall. Build quality is great and what I'd expect as well. Everything lined up and operated as expected - no unwelcome surprises. as most Milwaukee products have been for me. mulching performance is worse than the Toro though and the mulch plug doesn't do a good job staying in). Bagging performance is much better than the Toro. actually it's currently the most powerful 21" battery mower on the market (don't get wrapped up in voltage differences). Power wise - the Milwaukee is significantly more powerful. Much more enjoyable -vs- the Toro's oversized handlebars. Very nimble as well in a suburban yard environment (tight areas, backing up, etc). The first time I tried it, I welcomed the similar feel and immediately loved it. My favorite mower was a gas powered Honda, and the Milwaukee has very similar ergos. frustrating in tighter areas, but welcomed in open straight areas.Īs for the Milwaukee mower, this felt much more at home for me. Same goes for the Personal Pace self propel system. If you have a wide open area where you're simply walking in straight lines back & forth, I could see it being a plus however. the oversized "steering wheel" approach was just awful for a more suburban lawn where you'll be making turns in any sort of tight quarters. The handlebars were also not level as one of the attachment plates on the back of the mower was tweaked during production. one wheel was like 1/8" of an inch off the ground (it's not much, but still silly for a premium priced mower). would obviously spill clippings out this area. The bag would not sit flush to the back, so there was a 1/4" - 1/2" gap between the lower part of the bag and the mower body. But at the end of the day, the build quality and fit & finish were just not good and I ended up returning it. Mulching performance was absolutely phenomenal, so if that's your preferred method of cut then this is about as good as it gets. For example - if I needed a new blade, I could run to just about any hardware store and find a Toro blade that would work. It cut very well, and I really liked the fact that its components were based on the gas counterparts. Started with the Toro 60V Super Recycler (model # 21568). ![]() I'll break down some of the differences I noted below, but if you have any specific questions let me know. I actually started in the 60V Toro system (mower, blower, hedge trimmer, string trimmer) & migrated to the Milwaukee system (same tools).
